You made me curious to check out Winsor McCay. Some of his work is on YouTube. This is a stunning movie he did in 1918 to portray the sinking of a British vessel by the Germans around the time of WWI. Amazing considering the time period - looks like a blend of film and animation. The animation shames Disney's famous 'Steamboat Willie" (filmed 10 years later in 1928).

"This headline says, 'War has broken out in Europe." Ha. Ok... maybe it isn't so funny when you take it out of context like this, but hilarious in the strip itself. Nice experiment with a new style. Next up, "Family Circus"?

But had you said the most famous physicist WHO PLAYED BONGOS, then Feynman would have it nailed down.

Another Feynman blip from You tube below...

You're right; in terms of the entire historical body of science Feynman (even with his Nobel prize) probably wouldn't make the top three most famous names on Family Feud. But in terms of modern scientists who transcended research to become cultural icons, his influence in popularizing physics is undeniable in my humble opinion.

Most famous physicist after Einstein? Really? More famous than Newton, Galileo, Faraday, Kelvin, Doppler, Rutherford, Böhr, or Schrödinger for example? Really? I confess that had you asked me to name a physicist other than Einstein, I don't think Feynman's name would have popped into my head. *shrug* Maybe it's a USAnian thing...

Happy 150! Here's a 150th strip celebratory Haiku for you.

It's called "Rat Tangent".
It used to be called "Lab Rats",
but not anymore.

Cheers! Good luck vs. the Green Ball, Edison! (Do I sense a new character?)
